This is the homepage for the IsoBank project, a multi-organization effort to build a common repository for stable isotope data. We are currently defining metadata and data structures to allow the ingest, search, quality assessment and analysis of stable isotope data across numerous disciplines, collection types and sample processing procedures. Based on this work we will build a common database of open sample data with ingest and search mechanisms to enable the collection and sharing of stable isotope data across researchers and disciplines.
IsoBank is currently in an early implementation phase. Major areas of effort include metadata standards development and adoption, reflecting sample processing procedures and QA data within the database, and implemention of data ingest procedures taking account of the above items. We are actively seeking potential contributors and users of stable isotope data through the medium of IsoBank. If you would like to participate as an early tester of web infrastructure, as a potential data depositor, or would otherwise like to contribute to the project, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
IsoBank is a collaborative project of the Texas Advanced Computing Center at The University of Texas at Austin, the University of Wisconsin at Madison, the University of New Mexico, and the University of Utah, and is funded by the National Science Foundation.
